
I'm sure everyone is still coming to terms with the scale of the Virginia Tech incident.
Something I’ve found interesting is that while the traditional media were rather slow (reticent?) to name the gunman (probably awaiting legal clearance) there were reports in the blogging community (who often feel less restrained by such concerns – even if mistakenly) that they cold name the gunman and I even heard mention on the TV news that there were some pictures identifying him on various photo sharing websites (unconfirmed).
Not sure in your role as law school undergraduates what you would make of the naming of people under such circumstances; were he not dead now would his lawyers have claimed that his trial would have been prejudiced by such reports?
